Recently, three railway stations in Suzhou that sit along the Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo High-Speed Railway—Suzhou North Railway Station, Suzhou East Railway Station, and Changshu West Railway Station—have reached new construction milestones.

As a vital segment of the coastal passenger corridor in China's national "Eight North-South and Eight East-West" high-speed rail network, the Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo High-Speed Railway serves as a backbone line in the Yangtze River Delta intercity railway network. It also forms the north-south artery of the national railway network in Suzhou. The line is scheduled to open to traffic by the end of 2027.

Suzhou North Railway Station

The C6 part steel box girder of the Tangdu River main line of the station's express link road project has been successfully positioned. This marks the official start of steel box girder installation for this section, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent installation of about 5,000 metric tons of steel box girders across the entire span.

As a key supporting project of the Suzhou North Railway Station Comprehensive Transport Hub, the express link road project will seamlessly connect the station with urban expressways and highways, enabling smooth, multi-modal transfers upon completion.

Suzhou East Railway Station

In mid-August, the Integrated Energy Center obtained its official construction permit, marking the launch of the area's green "energy heart." Expected to be operational by 2028, the center will replace traditional decentralized energy systems with centralized, integrated energy supply, significantly reducing carbon emissions across the district.

With a total construction area of approximately 250,000 square meters and a layout of four platforms and nine tracks, Suzhou East Railway Station is China's first underground high-speed rail hub to integrate high-speed railway, intercity railway, suburban railway, and urban metro. It is also the nation's first underground station capable of supporting trains at a speed of ‌350 km/h‌ without slowing down.

Changshu West Railway Station

Located in Shanghu Town, Changshu, Changshu West Railway Station entered the superstructure construction phase in mid-July.

The railway station features a layout of two platforms and six tracks. Its station building covers a total floor area of 14,997.82 square meters, with a peak passenger capacity of 1,500. A 9,420-square-meter underground parking facility is being built in tandem, providing direct connectivity between the underground parking facility and the station's ground-level exit hall.
