The 2026 Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Series concluded at Changshu Sports Center on August 30.

Twenty-four top Asian rugby teams vied for glory over the two-day competition. In the end, China's Hong Kong men's rugby team claimed the championship, the Chinese men's rugby team finished third, and the Chinese women's rugby team took second place.

Shan Changshun, captain of the Chinese men's rugby team, stated that this Asian series served as an important event ahead of the 20th Asian Games (Aichi-Nagoya 2026), giving the team an opportunity to assess the level of opponents from other countries. After the tournament, the team will conduct more thorough analysis and adjustments to their tactics and techniques. Moving forward, the entire squad will focus on preparing for the 20th Asian Games.

Lu Zhuan, head coach of the Chinese women's rugby team, believed that this series provided valuable testing and training opportunities ahead of the Asian Games. Over two days and six matches, the team showed great fitness, physicality, and technical quality, and also tested different lineups and playing styles.

On the same day, the four-day 2026 China National Disc Golf Championship & AFDF Asian Disc Golf Open wrapped up at Shengze Lake Chinese Rose Garden in Suzhou's Xiangcheng District.

The event attracted athletes from 21 countries and regions and brought together 43 teams and 303 individual players, setting a new record for the highest number of participating countries and athletes in the history of disc golf tournaments. In the end, the Jiangsu team won the China National Disc Golf Championship, and Jiangsu Team One claimed the championship at the AFDF Asian Disc Golf Open.

In 2020, Shengze Lake Chinese Rose Garden established the nation's first standard disc golf course. This year, it became the first disc golf course certified by the Asia Flying Disc Federation (AFDF).

Pinggoy Bautista, President of the AFDF, stated, "The mission of the Asia Flying Disc Federation is to promote fun flying disc sports across Asia. Shengze Lake Chinese Rose Garden is an outstanding venue for flying disc sports. We hope that through this event, we can assist local efforts to continue promoting the development of this sport, and we also look forward to more tournaments being held in China in the future."
