Recently, the first batch of smart storage lockers has been deployed at parking lots of several popular scenic areas in downtown Suzhou, allowing tourists to travel light.
On September 1, the inaugural smart lockers officially went into operation at three major scenic area parking lots: Tongshaobang寒山寺铜勺浜地面停车场, Hanshan Temple寒山寺地上停车场, and the South Lot of the Humble Administrator's Garden拙政园. The lockers come in various sizes. Visitors can easily use them by scanning QR codes with Alipay or WeChat, or entering a verification code sent to their mobile phones.
These smart lockers offer 24/7 access. Small compartments are designed for handbags and backpacks, while large ones can accommodate luggage ranging from 20 to 32 inches. The pricing is as follows: 3 yuan/hour for small compartments, 4 yuan/hour for medium ones, and 5 yuan/hour for large ones, with a daily cap of eight hours of charge.
Prior to this, Suzhou's classical gardens and Suzhou Metro also rolled out similar luggage storage services (free in gardens, fee-based at metro stations).
