Suzhou to brace for temperature drop and wet weather

With the National Day holiday approaching, cold air masses are becoming more active, set to bring a noticeable temperature drop.

Temperatures will fall slightly during the first half of this week. High humidity will make it feel somewhat muggy. From Wednesday, active cold air masses will bring a more significant drop in temperatures. Lows are expected to reach 19 degrees on Friday and Saturday, marking the lowest point of this round of cooling. The lowest temperature will edge up to 20 degrees on Sunday, with highs expected to remain around 24 to 25 degrees.

This week will also be dominated by overcast and rainy weather. Two rounds of rainfall will last from today to Wednesday and from Friday night to Sunday. Moderate rain and localized heavy rain are expected from this afternoon to tonight and from tomorrow night to Wednesday morning. Scattered showers will linger in the city from Thursday to Sunday, but intensity will decrease. Brief showers will be the main feature from Friday to Sunday.

Residents are advised to bring rain gear when going out and adjust their clothes to avoid catching a cold.
